The relentless efforts of South West Ethiopia’s communities are continuing.
The project “Forests for Future” (2020 – 2023) – led by NABU, implemented by NABU Ethiopia and EWNRA, financially supported by the BMZ – embarked in the pilot testing activities under the established Forest Landscape Restoration Action Plans (FLRAP) for Kafa, Sheka and Bench-Sheko zones in South West Ethiopia. Here, various tree species as well as beehives have been distributed to and taken care of by community members to support local livelihoods and promote sustainable agroforestry and production practices. Through the unwavering efforts of the communities, the progress is continuously monitored, even during new projects. And successes can be shown: trees and fruits like the papaya (left) and enset (right) are growing and supporting people like Adanech and Setotaw for their and their families’ livelihoods. Well done!
